This month, MacroFactor added a label scanner to its food logging suite so you can create and track new foods effortlessly. No more back and forth to input nutrition facts – simply scan and go!
Nutrition label scanning is a powerful tool to effortlessly create and track new foods. This feature eliminates the need for manual data entry and guesswork, ensuring accuracy in your macro tracking. Whether you’re counting calories, monitoring your protein intake, or keeping an eye on your carbohydrate and fat consumption, our label scanner simplifies the process, making it easier to stay on top of your nutritional goals.
The new nutrition label scanner is fast, ergonomic, and comfortably embedded within the existing MacroFactor food logger.

Success Story: How Amanda learned to fuel her body using MacroFactor
Amanda Barnett has been on a journey with MacroFactor through weight loss, maintenance, and bulking. As a vegan, she has also used the app to ensure her nutrient requirements are being met.
“I downloaded the app and started tracking every day,” she said. “To begin with I stayed in a slight deficit and I started weight lifting 5 x week. I began to understand progressive overload and started to set goals for myself. By the beginning of September I started to look at my training differently, it became about how strong I could be, rather than what I looked like. The app was critical in me achieving this as I was properly fueling my body the whole time. As a vegan I have found the addition of the micronutrient tracker fantastic, being able to make sure I get enough iron has been brilliant.”
When asked what her biggest win with MacroFactor has been, Amanda said:
“Honestly, it’s hard to choose. Probably my biggest win is finally having control and understanding of how to properly fuel my body after 40 odd years of being in the dark. I have completely transformed myself inside and out. I have done things I never thought I was even remotely capable of doing, both in terms of strength gains and physique. I have never felt so empowered and it has transferred to all aspects of my life.”
In Case You Missed It
We share a lot of informative content on our Instagram and in our groups on Facebook and Reddit throughout the month.
Here are some of our favorites from the past few weeks, in case you missed them.
What We’re Working On
Over the past year, we’ve been working with a Tokyo-based team (led by Andy Morgan of rippedbody.com and Jon Clemons) to localize MacroFactor for Japan. That means that MacroFactor will be available in the Japanese language and will include thousands of foods from a specialized Japanese food database.
We’re excited to say that we are now in the final stretch of preparations for launching MF in Japan, and we expect the Japanese version of the app to be ready quite soon!
Of course, we’re still working on plenty of features that will benefit our English-speaking users, as well. To learn more about what we’re working on, check our public roadmap to see our plans for new features and improvements. You can also submit features for consideration and vote on the upcoming features that are the highest priority to you
Happy Holidays from the entire MacroFactor team, and we’ll see you in 2024! We have a lot of big plans for the next year that we can’t wait to share with you.
